WHAT IS HEMP TWINE?

HOW IS IT MADE?
It is made of the hemp’s plant outer bark. It is done by the retting process, which removes the longest strands from the woody center and prepares them for the next step. The best way to do retting is to leave the hemp in the field to allow natural humidity and bacteria to process the stalks.
The fibers are then spun and twisted together using special machines to make long threads. Twine is a strong thread composed of two or more twisted strands that are then plied, usually in the opposite direction to that of the twist. It adds torsional strength to the twine and keeps it from separating out.
