Production Process & Technical Capabilities
Hemptique’s wet spun linen yarn is produced using a precise multi-stage process designed to maximize strength, uniformity and commercial viability for textile manufacturers. Our equipment and workflow are optimized for consistent output, ready for integration into large-scale production environments.
Production Stages
Hackling (Combing): Raw flax is processed to remove shorter fibers and impurities. What remains is long, strong, and clean fiber—ideal for wet spinning.
- Drawing: The fibers are aligned through successive combing passes to ensure even thickness and high-quality yarn structure.
- Roving: A light twist is added to the drawn sliver to prepare it for the final spin. This stage also stabilizes fiber alignment for high-speed spinning.
- Wet Spinning: The roving is spun in a water bath that smooths the fibers, tightens the twist, and creates the characteristic fine finish of wet spun linen.
Yarn Specs and Processing Compatibility
Counts Available: Common counts include 4Nm to 16Nm. Finer or coarser grades may be available by request.
- Ply Options: From single-ply for lightweight woven textiles to 2–3 ply for structured or heavy-duty applications.
- Packaging Formats: Available on cones, spools or thread balls to match various machinery setups or manual use cases.
- Integration: Compatible with commercial weaving looms, circular or flat knitting machines, and sewing machines for textile panel assembly, apparel production or home goods.
Where Wet Spun Linen Yarn Fits in Modern Textile Manufacturing
Built for industrial consistency and fine detail, wet spun linen yarn adapts well to both artisanal processes and automated systems. Its strength, sheen and natural structure make it a practical choice for commercial textile operations seeking durable, natural-fiber alternatives.

Apparel Manufacturing
Used for shirts, dresses, trousers and lightweight jackets where breathability and structure are both priorities. The smooth surface of wet spun linen gives garments a refined finish.

Home Textiles & Interior Fabrics
Perfect for tablecloths, napkins, curtains, bedding and pillow covers where high performance, breathability and natural feel are desired.

Upholstery & Decorative Weaving
Works well in warp and weft applications for wall hangings, cushion panel, and upholstery cloth due to its tensile strength and dimensional stability.

Sewing Threads & Overlock Yarn
Used in garment construction and finishing processes, where uniform diameter and low lint are essential for high-speed machinery.

Knitting & Crochet Applications
For small-batch or designer knitwear looking for an eco-conscious, durable alternative to synthetic yarns.

Eco-Friendly Packaging & Branding Textiles
Custom-colored or polished linen yarn can be woven into labels, tags or product wraps that emphasize sustainability without sacrificing style.
If your production team works with cotton, viscose or synthetic blends and is exploring biodegradable options, our wet spun linen offers compatibility without compromising performance.
Why Wet Spun Linen Yarn Is Ideal for Textile Production
Commercial textile producers choose wet spun linen yarn for its high tensile strength, long fiber length and excellent compatibility with industrial looms and dye processes. Unlike dry spun alternatives, wet spinning creates a smoother, more uniform thread that performs consistently across fabric applications - from fine apparel to heavyweight decorative textiles.
Smooth Finish for Consistent Weave Quality
Wet spinning binds fibers with a subtle sheen and uniform texture, helping reduce yarn breakage and improving weaving efficiency.
Durability for Wear-Resistant Fabrics
Linen yarn produced through this method retains the full strength of long-staple flax, resulting in fabrics that withstand repeated use and laundering.
Moisture Management for Apparel & Interiors
Naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, ideal for hot-weather clothing, bedding, curtains and upholstery.
Versatile Handling Across Machinery
Easily integrates into looms, knitting machines, and sewing operations for everything from fine shirting to structured textile panels.
Eco-Friendly Fiber with Proven Commercial Use
Made from renewable flax, processed without harsh synthetics, and compostable at the end of product life, supporting sustainable textile supply chains.
