You love the 4th of July. You love the barbeques, the fireworks, and the vacation. It is your holiday! Show your national pride with a set macramé bangle charm bracelets. These are a quick and easy weekend project using Hemptique chord.

You will need:

A Hemp Cord Card in Classic Red, White &Blue #20

- A set of metal bangle bracelets ( I used Bead Landing Charmalong Bangles.)

- 6 blue Blue Swarovski charms, make your own or use those from the Bead Landing Bits and Baubles collection.   6 silver-star charms, make your own or use those from Bead Landing Bits and Baubles collection.

-E6000 jewelers glue
-tape measure or ruler
-scissors
-clipboard

Directions:
For the Star Spangled Bangle

  1. Measure 120 inches (10 feet) of red Hemptique cord. Run the cord under one end of the bracelet. Fold the strand in half.  Pull the ends together until the bracelet is centered on the midpoint of the cord.  Make your first half knot to tie the cord onto the bracelet. Tighten the knot.. Push it up to the top of the bracelet where it clasps.
  2. To proceed, stabilize the bracelet by holding it still in the clip of a clipboard.
  3. Proceed to make a series of half knots all beginning from the same side. This will create what is known as the half-knot spiral stitch in macramé. This will cause the knot to spiral around the bangle. Take the left strand and place it over the bracelet and the right cord leaving a loop. Take the right cord and run it under the bracelet and through the loop on the left. Pull both ends to tighten the knot. Make another and another until you have one inch of knots.
  4. Thread on a charm on the right strand.
  5. Proceed to make a knot as in step 3. Pull it tight.  Continue making knots as in step 3 for another inch and then and other charm.
  6. Repeat as for the first charm. You will add 6 charms total.
  1. When you come to the end. Tighten your last knot. Add some glue to it. Allow to dry and trim off the end strands.

The Red, White and Blue Bangle

  1. Measure 24 inches (2 feet) of red, blue, and white Hemptique cord. Run the first color under one end of the bracelet. Fold the strand in half.  Pull the ends together until the bracelet is centered on the midpoint of the cord.  Make your first half-knot to tie the cord onto the bracelet. Tighten the knot. Push it up to the top of the bracelet where it clasps.
  1. To proceed, stabilize the bracelet by holding it still in the clip of a clipboard.
  2. Proceed to make a series of half knots all beginning from the same side. This will create what is known as the half-knot spiral stitch in macramé. Take the right cord and run it under the bracelet and through the loop on the left. Pull both ends to tighten the knot. Make another and another until you have one inch of knots.
