HOW TO MAKE CARD CRAFT KITS

One of the things I love to do in my community is host crafty happy hours and card making events. I am showing you in this post How to Make Card Craft Kits because I think the more cards being made and shared, the better. There are a few tips and tricks to the kit making to ensure that the user is successful and has fun making. This post is sponsored by Therm-O-Web but the ideas and opinions are my own.

BASIC COMPONENTS TO A CARD KIT

The components that are in a card kit determine whether or not the user will be successful. Most people who purchase kits do it because they want components that go together and will work easily with each other.

STEPS TO MAKING A CARD KIT

Lay out envelopes, each with a note card on top.

Next, add a piece or two of decorative cardstock and maybe a die-cut or two.

Then add something that can be tied (like hemp cord from Hemptique). It is fun to wrap this then bind together with washi tape, which can then also be used on the card.

Hand stamp a sentiment or a cute image that can be colored onto a tag or smaller piece of cardstock then add to the mix.

Hand stamped designs on littler pieces of cardstock are fun for the insides and backs of cards.

Add any other embellishments desired. This is a great time to add buttons, pom-poms, charms and things like that.

Lastly, add adhesive.  My favorite for card kits is ZOTS from Therm-O-Web because you can add as many or as few as desired.  It helps that they are individual too so can be saved if not used.  I always provide their iCraft Tape Runner on the tables too.

BEST THERM-O-WEB ADHESIVES FOR CARD MAKING

Therm-O-Web has a variety of adhesives for paper crafting and card making.  These four are my favorites.

ICRAFT XL TAPE RUNNER

I love the iCraft XL Tape Runner. This easy-to-load, refillable runner contains 50 feet of permanent double-sided adhesive, so it lasts a long time, and the patented pivoting head is perfect for all kinds of curves, especially all the rainbows!

ICRAFT ZOTS

The iCraft Zots are awesome because they work fabulously for adding embellishments. The dots are sized for photos, matting, and embellishments such as; beads, buttons, paper flowers, chipboard accents and more.  They are so easy to use roll; just press your object to the Zot, peel it off the liner, and then place it to your project

ICRAFT EASY TEAR TAPE

This is one of my favorite crafting supplies to use for paper crafting and general crafting. The iCraft Easy Tear Tape is strong, truly easy-tear, and a permanent double-sided adhesive tape! It holds things together like a charm.

ICRAFT 3D FOAM SQUARES

The iCraft 3D Foam Squares come in black and white.  I love that they allow paper to stack on paper in a POPPED up 3D sort of way. They are really easy to use and work great for card making and party decorations too.

BRANDING CARD CRAFT KITS TO SELL

If you are selling your card kits, it is a good idea to brand them.  I recommend several things — putting an insert inside the package and a sticker on the outside. If you are a vinyl sticker kind of person, get some made to put in the kits too.  People will put them on all the things. I had these made to share at the launch party for my new Therm-O-Web line!

Often I put a sticker on the back of the packaging too. This is a great way to brand and share a way for those who are creating to tag you on social media.

Cheers to Handmade Cards!
